IFCL challlenges mid-cycle redistricting

Phil Goodchild and Mary Blackburn, representatives of IFCL joined other faith-based and nonprofit groups to challenge an effort to change congressional districts in Indiana to favor a political party mid-cycle.

The result was surprising for groups that often lobby for causes without success. In the end, the Indiana Senate voted 31-19 to keep the maps as they are.

IFCL has sent thank you notes to all representatives and senators who voted against the map-changing legislation, HB 1032. It will be good to return to the regular 2026 session that can focus on IFCL issues of affordable housing, renters rights, food insecurity, health care, education and environment.
