Registering Hoosiers to vote is easy

The League of Women Voters are leaders in advocating all citizens to exercise their freedom to cast a vote in a free and fair election.
Nine Friends met on Sunday afternoon, July 21, and participated in a workshop to learn how to register Hoosiers to vote. More volunteers are needed to improve Indiana’s voter participation.

What can you do?
Ask if you can register voters at Farmer’s Markets, County Fairs, Local Events, Naturalization Ceremonies (Get those brand-new citizens registered to vote!) Help nursing home residents get their absentee ballots.  A new law doesn’t allow a county clerk to send them to resident centers. But you can volunteer to meet with residents and help them apply online!

Help People Get a Valid Photo ID
Two nonprofit organizations, Voterriders.org and Spreadthevote.org will help citizens without access to a valid photo ID (such as a driver’s license or state ID) get them and provide funds for the needed proof of identity. Indiana is one of the most restrictive voter ID states in the country.
A variety of resources and important information are shared on this post.
